This is an opportunity for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts (and their parents) to experience Amateur Radio Communications.  Scouts all over the world will be operating radios this weekend.  At the Red Cross in Saginaw,  radios will be operated on both shortwave frequencies for world wide communications, and vhf/uhf frequencies for local communications.  Scouts will be allowed to operate the radios under the guidance of FCC licensed amateur radio operators.  We will also teach scouts how to run radio networks, and give them the chance to try out Morse code.  Information about how they can earn their own amateur radio license will be available.  For more information, please contact the SVARA club president, Keith DeLong.
