William Kosanovich, of Saginaw, MI, formerly of Youngtown AZ., passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare. He was 83 years old. William Kosanovich was born March 17, 1928 in Aliquippa, PA. to the late Michael and Jennie (Susich) Kosanovich. He was married to June Hayes on September 11, 1948. She survives him. Bill had been employed with the Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1983. Bill and June moved to Youngtown, AZ., where he later became Mayor. They returned to Michigan, moving to Saginaw, in 1998. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and took part in their Men's Club. Bill was also a charter member of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at SVSU. He enjoyed photography, traveling, computers, operating his Ham Radio, and spending time with his beloved dog, Rosie. Left to cherish his memory, besides his wife, June, are his daughter, Carol Lakos; his son, John (Barbara) Kosanovich; his sister, Norma (Mike) Krechowski; his brother, Charles Kosanovich; his brother-in-law, Bill Berger; four grandchildren: Kevin (Krystal) Kosanovich, Rene (Mike) Benedict, Julia Kosanovich, Chris Tobin and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Kosanovich; a sister, Joanie Berger; and a son-in-law, Jim Lakos. Bill's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Greg Brown, Dr. Jacob Ninan, and the staff at the Transitional Care Unit at Covenant Healthcare. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd. Rev. Kathryn S. Snedeker and Rev. Haldon Ferris will co-officiate. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Bill's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
