KING, George Edward – of Birch Run, age 94, died Friday, January 24, 2025 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2025 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run, Michigan. Burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.

George was born April 23, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Stanley and Helen (Moore) King. He grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School. George proudly served his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. During his service to our country, George served in Korea for over 1 year. On February 28, 1959 he married Bernice King in Saginaw, Michigan and she preceded him in death. Prior to his retirement in 1983, George worked for Saginaw Steering Gear in skilled trades with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Bridgeport Eagles Aerie # 995 and the Moose Lodge #2426 of Birch Run. George was a ham radio operator and his call sign was K8OT. He taught lessons on the ham radio to several people in the area. He loved flying and was an avid RC Airplane enthusiast with the name “Fly Guy”. George loved singing karaoke, hunting, camping, and always made sure all the kids were having fun. However, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are: Children, Vicky Mocklin, Kathy Little, Debbie (Darren) Chaffer, Belinda (Steve) Harding, Penny (Brian) Wanless, Robin (Lyle) Wedde; Grandchildren, Robin (Jordan) VanGuilder, Sarah Mocklin, Don (Tasha) Little, Jason (Kari) Little, Nichole (Josh) Newbold, AJ (Tiffany) Thomas, Jamie (Mat) Matson, Alisha (Justin) Smith, Shannon (Keith) Nagy, Matthew (Amanda) Wanless; several great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Sisters in law, Joanne King, Margaret King; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Bernice King; Son, Stephen King; Son in law, Gregg Mocklin; Brothers, David King, Edward King, Michael King.
