Radio to
Computer Sound Card Interface (Completed)
This interface lets the sound card in your computer make and
hear all of the "modem" sounds needed to do digital communications with
your radio. This class will be a walk through of building a RASCAL radio to computer sound
card interface. Purchase the $29.95 kit that matches your radio

Digital Modes using your Computer Sound Card (Completed)
Experiment with RTTY, PSK31, Packet, MFSK, SSTV, Hellschriber,
and more! We will meet together with our radios, sound card
interfaces and laptops; set up software and try using these modes over
our handheld radios. |

Using computers to move video, audio, and data through
wireless networks. Includes antenna construction techniques, radio
hardware overview, and software overview. These systems use
very low powered 2.4 GHz, and 5.8 GHz radio waves. Huge antenna
feed horns have been constructed out of door screen and duct tape for
competitions sending signals more than 100km with only 1 watt of power.

License Class (Completed)
The General License Class will start Tuesday, April 26, 2005
and run each Tuesday night from 6 PM to 9 PM until June 14. It
will be held at Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw. (The same
place where the Technician classes have been taught the past couple

Fox Hunt
Yagi (Completed)
Tuesday August 2, 2005 - 6PM at Red Cross
Build a fox hunting style Yagi antenna from some PVC pipe and
elements cut from a tape measure. A hairpin match is placed across
the center elements, and a coax cable and connector for your radio is
attached. This will be fantastic for this summers planned fox
hunts! Estimated Cost: $20. Class size: 10. |

FT-897 - Learn How to Operate the Clubs Newest
Radio (Completed)
Come learn how to operate the clubs newest radio.
Normally this radio is stationed in the Red Cross, but it's portable
enough to quickly move to our trailer or anywhere else we need it. This model radio will also
be used at the EOC in Saginaw. Estimated Cost: Free. Class Size: 5.
